S/4 HANA Demo Series: 02 – TM/EWM Integration – Advanced Shipping and Receiving (ASR) Scenario
Introduction:
Advanced Shipping and Receiving is a streamlined, end-to-end process for transporting and warehousing products. Advanced Shipping and Receiving simplifies communication between various application components embedded in SAP S/4HANA: Transportation Management (TM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Inventory Management (MM-IM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Delivery Management (LE-SHP). The Advanced Shipping and Receiving process is based on the TM freight order (FO) and doesn’t use the EWM transportation unit (TU) or the EWM vehicle.
Demo:
This demo will feature the ASR Scenario. Key functionalities will be highlighted through an integrated process flow, including dynamic delivery splitting based on unloaded cargo. For instance, if a pallet cannot be loaded, and other pallets are associated with the same delivery, the system will automatically manage the resulting adjustments.
The process will encompass order-based planning, automated carrier selection, delivery creation, picking and packing, repacking, door arrival, selective pallet loading, loading completion confirmation, goods issue posting, and departure.
