SAP LGM Demo Series: 03 – SAP Warehouse Logistics Mobile App

In the previous session, we focused on the inbound process, where all transactions were executed using desktop applications. However, in a warehouse environment, most goods‑movement activities are performed by operators who are not stationed at a computer. As a result, mobile devices are required to execute these transactions, and operators must also complete the tasks assigned by supervisors. Task execution is validated through barcode scanning to ensure accuracy. 

Many of the older methods for integrating SAP with mobile devices are now outdated. To address this, SAP has introduced the SAP Warehouse Logistics Mobile App – a native mobile application available for Android 8+ and iOS 18+. The app is built using SAP Mobile Services, an open‑standards‑based capability on SAP Business Technology Platform that simplifies mobile application development, configuration, and lifecycle management. 

With this solution, SAP Logistics Management extends seamlessly to mobile devices, enabling warehouse operators to execute tasks directly on the warehouse floor with real‑time synchronization. The app provides a secure, modernized experience with tight SAP integration to streamline warehouse operations. 

Demo Highlights:  

This demo provides an overview of the Warehouse Logistics Mobile App and showcases execution of putaway tasks in two variations: 

• Material‑driven approach: Enter the material, view all open tasks associated with it, and execute the required putaway tasks. 

• Source‑bin‑driven approach: Start by entering the source bin or Goods Receipt area and execute the corresponding putaway tasks. 

We will also demonstrate how operators can edit quantities and override the system‑proposed putaway bin.
