SAP AI Demo Series: 01 – Prediction of Delivery Date for Purchase Order Items

We are thrilled to launch our SAP AI Demo Series, designed to showcase the powerful capabilities and innovative solutions that SAP offers in the world of Artificial Intelligence. This series will provide valuable insights that can deepen the understanding of various supply chain areas that utilize AI.

Demo 1: Prediction of Delivery Date for Purchase Order Items

In this session, we’ll be diving into SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud’s Machine Learning powered feature, Prediction of Delivery Date for Purchase Order Items, which is part of Scope Item 3FY. This functionality helps procurement teams proactively manage supplier delays using intelligent machine learning models trained on historical data.

By configuring and deploying the Intelligent Scenario Management app, users can train predictive models (like SUPLRDELIVPREDICT for Predicting Delivery Date for Purchase Order Items) to analyze past supplier performance and detect delay patterns. These predictions are then seamlessly integrated into the Manage Purchase Order Items Fiori app, providing visibility into possible disruptions before they occur.

Once the model is trained in the Intelligent Scenario Management app, and the program is activated and scheduled, predictions are automatically generated based on historical supplier delivery data. Model can be retrained, and batch jobs are available to automate the process.  These predictive insights are embedded directly in the purchase order item view, enabling procurement teams to take timely and informed actions to mitigate risks.
