We are excited to introduce our third SAP Demo Series, “S/4HANA Public Cloud Essentials,” focused on showcasing key scope items within the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. This series highlights the powerful capabilities and innovative solutions available in the Public Cloud edition, helping organizations understand how to leverage SAP’s best‑practice processes effectively.
These demos are designed to provide practical insights and actionable guidance that can enhance day‑to‑day SAP operations. While SAP provides extensive documentation on process flows, configuration, and testing, our videos will concentrate on the most impactful elements within each scope item—bringing clarity to essential functions and demonstrating the real potential of the solution.
S/4 HANA Public Cloud:
In addition to the S/4HANA On‑Premise and Private Cloud editions, SAP also offers SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, a true Software‑as‑a‑Service (SaaS) ERP designed with a high level of standardization and limited flexibility for deep customization. This makes it a strong fit for organizations seeking a streamlined, best‑practice‑driven solution.
When evaluating the Public Cloud Edition, system complexity and implementation size are key considerations. Small to mid‑size companies—where business processes are less complex and customization needs are minimal—often find the Public Cloud model particularly suitable, especially when integration requirements are limited.
SAP delivers two major releases each year, in February and August, with additional fixes bundled into these cycles. System upgrades occur automatically, ensuring customers always run the latest version without manual intervention.
Notably, SAP often introduces new features first in the Public Cloud Edition before they appear in the on‑premise or private cloud versions. Because of this, it’s important for customers to regularly track release notes and monitor the SAP roadmap to understand evolving capabilities and assess how new features align with their business needs.
Demo: Sales Order Processing for Sales Kit (31Q)
This demo provides an overview of Sales Kits in SAP S/4HANA and how different kit variants influence pricing, logistics execution, and downstream processing. SAP supports multiple kit behaviors, each controlling whether the main item or sub‑items drive pricing and delivery relevance.
We highlight the four key variants:
- ERLA – Pricing and logistics execution at the main item level
- LUMF – Pricing and logistics execution at the sub‑item level
- CPFH – Pricing at the main item, logistics at the sub‑item level
- DISH – Logistics at the main item, pricing at the sub‑item level
The demo walks through the end‑to‑end process flow, including:
- Creating the sales order and kit explosion
- Creating and picking the delivery for each variant
- Posting goods issue
- Creating the billing document based on the variant’s pricing logic
This overview sets the foundation for understanding how each variant impacts real‑world sales, logistics, and billing scenarios in S/4HANA.
