Intracompany STO with inbound ASR in Embedded EWM –Automatic IBD Creation at PGI With FU Reassign.

Overview

This blog describes an intracompany stock transport order (STO) scenario using Advanced shipping and receiving (ASR) for inbound execution with embedded SAP EWM.

A key enhancement in this scenario is the automatic creation of the inbound delivery at post goods issue (PGI) of the outbound delivery, triggered via SPED output, along with automatic reassignment of the same Freight Unit (FU) from outbound to inbound delivery.

The solution supports end–to-end execution across SAP S/4 HANA, SAP TM, SAP EWM, and ASR, ensuring uninterrupted transportation and warehouse execution using a single Freight Unit and Freight Order.

Business Scope and Supported Scenarios

This functionality applies to intracompany stock transfers and supports inbound ASR execution when outbound processing is performed from either EWM-managed or non-EWM storage locations.

Supported Combinations
  • Outbound ASR shipping point+EWM storage location –>Inbound ASR shipping point+ EWM Storage location
  • Outbound ASR shipping point+EWM storage location –>Inbound ASR+non-EWM Storage location
  • Outbound ASR shipping point+ NON EWM storage location –>Inbound ASR+EWM Storage location
  • Outbound non-ASR +NON EWM storage location –>Inbound ASR+EWM Storage location

This flexibility allows organizations to run Hybrid Landscapes without breaking ASR or transportation execution.

Key Features
  • Advanced Shipping and Receiving (ASR) enabled for inbound STO processing
  • Embedded EWM support for inbound warehouse execution
  • Outbound execution from EWM or non-EWM storage locations
