S/4 HANA Demo Series: 12 – TM/EWM Integration: STO with Advanced Shipping and Receiving (ASR) Scenario

Introduction:

A Stock Transport Order (STO) facilitates the movement of materials between plants or warehouses within the same organization. In this process, an outbound delivery is created in S/4HANA to execute the shipping activities, and once goods issue is posted, an inbound delivery is automatically generated to receive the stock at the destination. With recent SAP TM release, the two‑step STO flow now supports automatic reassignment of Freight Units from the outbound to the inbound delivery upon goods issue. This allows the same Freight Order to continue through check‑in, unloading, and warehouse execution at the receiving site, while providing full in‑transit visibility and seamless operational continuity

Demo Highlights:

  • Stock Transport Order execution with automatic Freight Unit creation in TM
  • Freight Order planning in the TM Cockpit with automatic carrier selection
  • Delivery creation directly from the Freight Order
  • Pick/Pack and Repack processing in EWM
  • Automatic door and loading‑point assignment, followed by arrival and partial load completion
  • Delivery split, Goods Issue posting and departure from the door
  • Inbound delivery creation via SPED output for loaded HU
  • Manual door assignment with automatic unloading‑point determination
  • Arrival at door, unload completion, and Goods Receipt posting
  • Departure from the door and final put‑away to destination bin in EWM
